Rani Boazz

Rani is the Founder of Boazz Law Chambers. She completed her LL.B. from Government Law College, Ernakulam, Kerala and her LL.M. from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University. She was admitted to the Bar in 1994. For the past 27 years Rani has practised exclusively in the area of intellectual property law (both contentious and non-contentious) and licensing. She advises clients and is involved in the whole IP cycle from creation through to licensing, and from valuation to commercialisation of IP assets. She is also a registered Patent Agent. Prior to this entrepreneurial venture, Rani was a Partner with a leading intellectual property law firm in India. She was the first president of the Licensing Executives Society India [LES India] and is actively involved with the activities of LES International. She has written extensively including co-authoring a chapter titled ‘Software licensing as a driver of the Indian economy' in the LES International publication LES International Best Practices Guide; an article “Trade marks in India: The Coming out season” in World IP Review, Sept-Oct, 2008.

 


Rohini Boez

Rohini Boez, [LL.B., LL.M. (Cochin University), MPhil –International Law (J.N.U.)] is a practising Advocate and is enrolled at the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.

She began her foray into Intellectual Property as an Associate with the oldest intellectual property law firm in India (1997-2002).

For a period of over thirteen years (2002-2015) she was an in-house Counsel with leading MNC’s in the entertainment and software industries handling enforcement and protection of IP rights both in SAARC and SEA region. Having spent many years as an in-house corporate counsel in the hi-tech industry, she brings a different perspective and flavour to practice and in her approach to advising clients.

Having joined Boazz Law Chambers as Partner to grow its Media & Entertainment and Information Technology practice, she is an experienced and highly regarded practitioner in this area of practice, which covers transactional work, contentious issues and enforcement in IP/IT cases, with a special interest in the software and entertainment space. She represents clients before Tribunals and Courts across India. Rohini is a Certified Mediator, Certified Arbitrator and a Certified Compliance and Ethics professional.

Rohini also provides Legal-Aid services as part of the Firm’s outreach programme.
